  1. I tried bidding for 3 nights in Singapore in the 5 star category March 24 to Sat. March 27 all failed. Last bid Bugis +City Hall / Marina Bay +East Coast +Financial District +Orchard Road +Riverside - $84 - all rejected I did one last try for $90 and eliminated the final night and again my bid was rejected. Seems there is an international maritime convention/conference in town during that week with many of the best hotels in town posting fully booked.
  2. Thank you Blueskies. Am I going to see the A-380? Yes indeeeeeed! And this is also a pilgrimage to see Madame! :)
  3. 24 hours later... I was successful with a 4* at Heathrow for the night of May 18th. :) :o I Rebid $65. Got a counteroffer for $81. Counteroffer accepted. our Offer Price: $81.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $81.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $22.06 Total Charges: $103.06 Crowne Plaza Heathrow Airport 4-star I have some accomodation arranged in central London for the night of the 17th. Not a hotel. 17th was very difficult, all the hotels in town and at the airport booked up. Must be because of the football game Arsenal playing the finals and lots of followers travelling. Also Her Majesty the Queen will be making a visit to Hayes (near Heathrow) on the 18th. Maybe she wants to see the A-380 flying by? :)
  4. 4* Heathrow rejected at $80 adding Luton as free re-bid zone. I guess I will have to wait 24 hours to rebid on a 4* Looks like the place is busy those two nights. Had found a 4* at $75 on Hotwire and by the time I entered the credit card number and punched the "go" box the offer had gone. The 3* Heathrow properties offered on Priceline don't look terrific to say the least... Will wait and try 4* again tomorrow.
  5. Flight changes. All Heathrow hotels. Changed my flights, same dates. It will make things a lot easier. :) Moderator, please close this thread. Thank you.
  6. Thank you for your advice, Blueskies. I absolutely need to have that room at Gatwick. Will have to start working on this tomorrow morning Europe time. Better give myself as many bids as I can as you said.
  7. I have gone through Heathrow lots of times. My answer to your question would be yes unless there are som hotels there that I did not notice but those would be in the Hounslow or Hatton Cross perimeter I think, not too near from the airport itself.
  8. Thank you for your information. I need help bidding, using Priceline Name Your Own Price. I will have to get up really early to catch a flight so there is no real need that I spend much on this one. Something decent in the airport vicinity will be fine.
  9. Using Priceline Name Your Own Price. 4 star if reasonable or 3 star. Immediate airport vicinity as 6.00 morning take-off. Thank you very much in advance. :)
  10. Minimum star rating: 3 stars Hotel that is not on Bath Road: I guess I will have no choice as long as it is in the airport perimeter and accessible by shuttle or other bus from the terminals. Got to hurry on this one as there will be a lot of people out there the morning of the 18th. :)
  11. Here we are. I have my plane tickets I will need to stay at Heathrow (preferably on Bath Road) the night of the 17th and at Gatwick the night of the 18th as I have a flight from there at 6.00 in the morning on the 19th. Looking for 4 star in both places bidding via Priceline Name Your Own Price. Any help or suggestions will be most appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.
  12. Should be two nights, 16 and 17. The Renaissance is full unless some last minute no shows. I still have not arranged the flights, everything will be sort of last minute. Maximum "name your own price" bid would be about $85/night + taxes. All on standby for the time being. Thank you all for your answers. :)
  13. Hi all, Help needed for winning hotel room on Bath Rd via Priceline Name Your Own Price. Night of May 17 (maybe 18 too). Renaissance my favourite. Sheraton Skyline, Marriott and Crowne Plaza will do too. Thank you very much in advance for your suggestions and ideas. :)
  14. I just won this hotel on Priceline 49+ taxes. I could not get any 4 stars up to 60 as it seems all the hotels are fully booked that night. There must be an event in town. I can see that there is nothing to expect from this hotel and from the staff at the reception desk. :) :) I'll be off a transatlantic flight and on to another transpacific flight the next morning...
  15. I did exactly as you said and failed at 60 at the 4* level. :) :) I went on for 3* and bid 49 and was immediately successful. I got the SFO airport Holiday Inn. 49-00 + 14.31 Taxes and Service. Total = 63.61 I will be getting in from Europe that day and on to a transpacific flight the next morning. This hotel gets rather bad reviews on this forum and elsewhere but I guess I did not have much choice. Thank you for your help.
