  1. Compact car, got Alamo. Bid $19.00 to which $3.00 "bonus cash" per day was added. I used the PRICELINE link on this site, then logged into "My Profile" and "My Rewards" to access the "bonus cash". Thanks for a helpful resource. Your Offer Price: $19.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 5 days(4 days and 10 hours) Subtotal: $95.00 Taxes and Fees: $58.05 Total Charges: $153.05
  2. Priceline sent me an email with a link good for 24 hours only to get $4 per day "bonus cash" to be used on a car reservation. Hotwire wanted $26/day plus $41 in fees = $119 for a 3-day rental. I bid $18 a day on Priceline, to which the $4 in "bonus cash" was added, along with $41 in fees = $95 out of my pocket. Car rental company was Avis. Sorry for not using the PRICELINE link on this site, I didn't know how to make it work with "bonus cash".
  3. Bidding for a 4*, after bids of $85 and $90 were rejected, I got: Marriott Baltimore Waterfront 700 Aliceanna Street Baltimore, Maryland 21202 Subtotal: $95.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $21.07 Total Charges: $116.07 Naturally, I used the PRICELINE search box on this great site. :)
  4. This is the property at 30 Technology Drive. Amenities were kitchenette and laundry. Taxes and fees were $11.63 for a total of $62.63. Thanks, BetterBidding; you allowed me to predict I'd get this hotel, which is right down the street from where I need to be the next morning.
  5. Bid 3* MTS at $133 and was re-rejected. Re-bid 3* for the same set of zones (Downtown / MTS / MTW / UM-CPS / UWS) at $140 and got: Millennium Broadway Hotel 145 West 44th Street New York, New York 10036-4012 212-768-4400 $140 + $30.71 = $170.71 total.
  6. Did some more bidding tonight after convincing myself that 3* hotels are all likely to be just fine, but I was rejected bidding up to $143 for a 3* in Downtown / MTS / MTW / UM-CPS / UWS. Thanks for the PATH information, that is really helpful.
  7. After midnight, but probably not after 2am; I seem to find myself old and lame lately. I suppose a 2-to-3 am return to the hotel is not absolutely out of the question, but I am happy to plan for the before-2am case.
  8. I could save a few bucks by staying in Jersey City and taking the PATH in, since the hotels there seem to get good reviews. Any ideas on a bidding strategy to minimize waiting for the PATH on Saturday night / Sunday morning? I have never taken the PATH before.
  9. Now rejected up to $129 in Downtown and UM/CPS. For comparison, the Millennium Hilton is $199 on their own Web site for that night.
  10. A non-crummy 3* is perfectly fine. I would like to avoid getting an overrated smelly, dusty, cramped room with a window on the trash chute, though. Bidding 4* avoids that problem, but it's an expensive solution.
  11. I was trying to get the Millennium Hilton downtown for this Saturday night (4/8), but have been rejected bidding up to $121. Any suggestions for an equally nice property for around that price range? Location is not too important as long as the subway is nearby. Upper West Side might be especially convenient since we will be in that neighborhood Saturday night.
  12. Started a new bid at $85 for 3* in Cambridge and got the Doubletree: Doubletree Guest Suites Boston Cambridge - Brookline 400 Soldiers Field Road Boston, Massachusetts 02134 617-783-0090 3-star Check-In Date: Tuesday, October 25, 2005 Check-Out Date: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 Your Offer Price: $85.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.62 Total Charges: $103.62
  13. Searching for the night of Tue 10/25 (only) on Hotwire, I am getting a 3* in Chestnut Hill for $116 with "Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Center". How confident should I be that this is the Sheraton Newton? Thanks very much!
  14. Just wanted to chime it with a big thank you for all the help I've been getting here. It's a bit late to tell you now, but I booked eight nights in Korea (about $900) for work through your Expedia link back in mid-August... hope a couple of bucks made it your way. And yes, Seoul was great. :)
  15. Okay, if I go for it I'll let you know what it turns out to be. Nope, just Cambridge plus two free re-bid zones (Medford - Somerville and South Boston). I'd like to try and get something T accessible first.
