jac199 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 Hi, I am going to try Priceline for the first time. I need one hotel room for Friday, April 29th. I would like to stay as close to the port as possible. I understand I should be bidding on downtown hotels. I would not mind going as high as $150, but would rather pay less since we will only be there for one night. Should I start with a $50 bid on a 3*?Thanks in advance for any assistance!
thereuare Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! To begin, you need to understand the concept of re-bidding, which is explained in this thread: PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED. When bidding the 3* level in Ft. Lauderdale you only have one re-bid zone available, please read the previous thread and ask any questions that you may have and/or confirm your re-bid zone with the rest of the board (to avoid any mistakes). My guess is that if you're going to be successful, it will take a bit of $75. If you have time on your hands and would like to prove me wrong (it would be great if you did as it would mean you're getting a lower price) i would:Select 3* DowntownBid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $60.If that is rejected wait 72 hours and (or you can just star with the below if you'd rather not try the bid(s) above)...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $80.Any questions please feel free to ask, and your encouraged to confirm your re-bid zone with the board to make sure you get it right.Good Luck, and please keep us updated as to your sucess/failure. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
