eyefly Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 I Used PRICELINE through the link on betterbidding. I needed a room for at least one night. I bid $105 and got the NH Nice Hotel. It was a good location, but the room was definitely not a 4* star quality room. There was no carpet in the room. Only faux hardwood. On a king sized bed, were were only 2 pillows. The toiletries were of very poor quality. The only furniture in the room was a small desk, a crummy chair, night tables, and the bed (of course). The TV was mounted on the wall. No artwork on the walls either. To add insult to injury, when I need a extra room for the same night, after taxes, I ended up just paying about 3 euros more than what I payed on PRICELINE, which leads me to believe that this hotel is really more of a 3*. I'm sure there is a definition of what constitutes a 4* hotel. But to be honest no matter who or what is in the lobby or restaurant, at the end of the day, I want a nice, comfortable room. I have paid a lot less for a lot more hotel in France.
