ChicagoLaw Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 I've stayed at the Palmer House and Hyatt Regency this year and for my upcoming trip I would like something a little nicer if I can get a little nicer for just a little bit more $. Palmer and Hyatt were a just a little dated and our room was very small at the Hyatt Regency. I'm planning to bid through the PRICELINE link so what star level and priceline district (i.e. NMA) would be my best bet? Also, is there any chance of finding a Chicago hotel with windows that open? I know that is probably unlikely in an urban area but I like airing out a room. Thank you for your help.

ChicagoLaw Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 We need a room for this Saturday (4/10) for 3 nights. I would like to be under $100 per night. Please provide the date/s of travel and desired budget per night. Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AaronJB Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Personally, I wouldn't use PRICELINE, as I think if you are looking for something different from the Hyatt and Palmer, you could wind up at the Sheraton (another similar convention property to the Hyatt) or one of the historic properties in the NMA area. HOTWIRE has a 4* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business for $94; that could be either the Hotel Felix or Hotel Sax, two more modern boutique properties (although rooms at the Felix are a bit on the small side, but smaller rooms are not uncommon in the city.). There's also a 3.5* NMA w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa for $88, which would be the Indigo - that's a very cute boutique property in the Gold Coast neighborhood. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ChicagoLaw Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 Thank you so much! Yes, it seems like Hotwire would give me more of what I was looking for this time. AaronJB Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Are either of the above suggestions of interest, or do you see another HOTWIRE listing of interest? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
ChicagoLaw Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 I looked into both and Hotel Felix and Hotel Sax are pretty different in style. With Hotwire I suppose there is no way to bid for Felix and not Sax is there? ThanksThank you so much! Yes, it seems like Hotwire would give me more of what I was looking for this time.
ChicagoLaw Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 It is offered at $94 and says hi speed internet, fitness center, business center and 85% of reviews recommended it. Which hotel do you think it is? Thanks
ChicagoLaw Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 $103 for this weekend. Fitness center, restaurant(s), fitness and business center. 80% recommended it. Suppliers listed as: Leading Hotels of the World and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Any ideas which hotel this could be?
ChicagoLaw Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 Which would you pick:4.5* $103 fitness, business center, hi speed, restaurant, 80% recommend. Leading Hotels of the World and Preferred Hotels & Resorts are suppliersOR4* $93 fitness, business, hi speed, restaurant, 90% recommend. InterContinental, Hyatt and Omni are suppliers.Which Hyatt would the 4* be -- Park Hyatt at Water Tower or Hyatt Regency on the river? Thanks!
AaronJB Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Please keep all posts for this stay within this thread. When searching for 4/10-13 w/2 adults, I'm seeing as of this morning:4.5* Mag Mile-Streeterville: fitness, business, restaurant, internet. This is possibly the Intercontinental, James or Conrad, but is most likely the Intercontinental.4* Mag Mile-Steeterville: fitness, business, restaurant, internet. Possibly the Westin River North, Hard Rock, Hyatt (NOT the Park Hyatt, the Hyatt on the River - the Park Hyatt has never been reported on either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE) or Sheraton. Given no tripadvisor rating showing, there is no way to know for sure. There's also a 3.5* NMA w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa for $88, which would be the Indigo - that's a very cute boutique property in the Gold Coast neighborhood. The potential Sax/Felix listing is no longer showing.
