GeorgeSD Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Used your PRICELINE link to start the bidding and got Omni SF for $105.I used the re-bid zone strategy to start bidding at $80, with $5 increment. A poster here mentioned a big event in SF that week and hotel rooms are tight. I guess $105 is an OK price for a busy week. Now I have to go read the review! :)
Gallus50 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Omni is a great hotel. slruud swears by it. If hotel rooms are tight and you got the Omni, that's great.
slruud Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Considering the best rate on the Omni website is $245, you got a great deal GeorgeSD. Don't forget to sign up for Omni's Select Guest program before you go and have your Select Guest number put on your reservation. Say hi to Danny and Joy at the bar.
AaronJB Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Congratulations on your success! :)Superb deal for this San Fran property during a busy period! Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
GeorgeSD Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 Don't forget to sign up for Omni's Select Guest program before you go and have your Select Guest number put on your reservation.I didn't know I still can do that using Priceline! I'll definitely put down my Omni Select Guest number when I'm checking in.
AaronJB Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 PRICELINE/HOTWIRE reservations are not eligible for rewards program benefits, but some hotels may still accept them. It's worth trying.

It's worth trying. The Omni chain has always honored our Select Guest status and we occassionally get complimentary upgrades to Premier rooms or as for our last stay in Austin an upgrade to their Club floor....evening free happy hour with munchies and free breakfast. If they know you are coming for a birthday or anniversary, they'll probably throw a bottle of wine your way.
