carolecat Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I am wondering if anyone has been able to book The James or The Drake recently. I am looking for 4/7-9 this week and saw one in the Mag Mile that looked like The James but was only 75 dollars! Four starFitnessRestaurantBusinessInternet Spa85% of customers
AaronJB Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The above listing would likely be the Hyatt. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing what would appear to be the James or Drake (and the amenity set previously reported with the Drake has been seen with a few other properties, so it's difficult to narrow down.) I am seeing a 3.5* NMA/Water Tower/Gold Coast for $69 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa, which would likely be the Indigo - while a bit out of the way in the Gold Coast area, that is a cute property. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
carolecat Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 I have a couple of options for Thursday night 4/8-9:Mag Mile4 starBed choiceFitnessRestaurant BizInternet85% customer reviews Looking in all the downtown areas...I see something that looks like Amalfi, Indigo, Intercontinental and the Palmer House. Any of these better than others?
AaronJB Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 There's a 3.5* Mag Mile w/breakfast, fitness, internet, business, laundry for $89 w/a 4.5/5 tripadvisor rating on the detail page (guess would be Amalfi), 4.5* Mag Mile (w/fitness, business/restaurant, internet - guess would be Intercontinental) and a 3.5* NMA-GC-WT w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa for $68 (likely Indigo.) The Intercontinental is a very nice hotel, but the potential Amalfi for less is - I think - a particularly good choice. The Indigo is also a very cute property, and that's a great deal for that hotel. It is a bit out of the way in the Gold Coast neighborhood, though. I'd put it between the potential Amalfi or Indigo. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
carolecat Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 Thanks, I think I'll try the Amalfi! The only drawback of most of these great "deals" is the PARKING. Amalfi's is $45. Maybe we could have a thread only for the parking fees with each hotel?
AaronJB Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Parking in downtown Chicago is problematic at all hotels; it runs anywhere from about $25 (I think the Hilton Garden is $25) to just over $50, but most are $40-50.I don't drive (and the rates listed below are probably higher by now, you would have to call), but I do know this lot is not far from the Amalfi. The Sterling Self-Park Garage(located between Clark and LaSalle on Kinzie)312.341.3463$24 per dayIn by 7 a.m. out by 7 p.m. - $14In by 9 a.m. out by 7 p.m. - $18 per dayAfter 3 p.m. and weekends - $6
carolecat Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 Wow - you're good!Yes, it was the Amalfi. Booked for 4/8-9 $89. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Happy to help! :)Wonderful deal! This is a very nice boutique property (great location in River North, too.) Free breakfast on each floor is also a nice bonus.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and enjoy your stay.
