hawler Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 $60 for 08/18/10 - 08/20/10. Fees for the 2 nights are $27.78 bringing the 2 night total to $147.78. I started with a 3 * $55 bid, then upped to $60 and included 2.5* after noting there weren't any in this class downtown. Not sure if it was necessary to increase my bid or not. Would it have been possible to have my same $55 bid accepted by including 2.5* even though there weren't any 2.5* hotels? I assumed I needed to up my bid but perhaps not? Anyone? This was my first Priceline purchase. Thanks to betterbidding I felt quite informed and comfortable about the entire process. Knew enough to use the links too.

Read this link for future bidding: If you lower your star rating then lower your price Oops, I thought there weren't any below 3*. I was going by the Priceline Hotel List for Tennessee on this site. Is this list up-to-date?Or did you just mean if a new 2.5* was added?Memphis (Downtown)4* Madison Hotel4* Peabody4* Westin Beale Street3.5* Marriott3* Crowne Plaza3* Doubletree (185 Union Ave) Radisson3* Residence Inn DowntownGreat advice in the thread you linked, thanks!
yellowdog Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 hawlerThe list is up to date by the lates reports we have. But you shouldn't use boards list to determ your bidding. Please read this link for your re-bidding: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained Or did you just mean if a new 2.5* was added? The case is just that the board don't have any 2.5* hotels reported. Even if you don't see 2.5*, 2* etc hotels on the list could there be bidding for that star rating. But read the link i posted and you will understand. Just post if you have any question regarding this.Like i said, pure luck :) Yellowdog. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
