Priceline Hotel: 3.5* San Juan Sheraton Old San Juan

Long time lurker, first time poster.

My wife and I have only used PRICELINE a few times to bid on hotels so we're by no means experts. Here's what I'd like your help with:

Here are my 3 questions:

1) I'd like to guarantee we win a bid for the San Juan Sheraton Old San Juan, 5/15/2010 - 5/16/2010, my max limit is $90.

How do I guarantee we win that particular hotel???

2) My wife recently received an e-mail from PRICELINE with a $30 hotel credit. Can this be used with the regular "name your price" bidding process?

3) Most importantly I'd like to help support this awesome and amazing web site by using your PRICELINE link.

Since we're Priceline newbies, please provide detailed STEP BY STEP instructions on how to place the bid to guarantee we win that hotel.

You can't guarantee a specific property when bidding on PRICELINE, nor is there any way to target or increase your chances for a specific property... if you're not able to accept any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating you select then you shouldn't use PRICELINE for this stay.

HOTWIRE may be an option if you're able to take a guess as to the hotel offered before your purchase, but it would still be an educated guess, and no guarantees that you would receive the hotel you're hoping/expecting, so there would be some risk involved.

Based upon the above let us know if you're able to be more flexible in your plans or if the Sheraton Old San Juan is the only hotel you're willing to accept.

First bid $85 for 3.5* wasn't accepted, added Dorado region increased bid to $95 and sweet success got the OSJ Sheraton!

I called OSJ Sheraton the other night and they quoted $249 per night, what a deal!

Thank you. It was an OK deal, although I was hoping for $80 - $85. However compared to the $249/night retail rate it's a pretty great deal.
