Priceline Hotel: Barcelona Hotels???

Any tips for Barcelona? I tried doing a 'search' for Barcelona, but I kept getting an error. I wonder if I am doing something wrong. I am considering using Hotwire since they do have an area 'Ciutat Vella - Barri Gotic' that is more specific than just 'Barcelona East/West' (which Priceline only has and Hotwire has too)and I think that is where 'Las Ramblas' is located. Although Barcelona East/West might not be too bad of a metro ride aways; we do have lots of time, so no hurry.

Per Hotwire...

3* $61 in Barcelona West

4* $99 in Ciutat Vella - Barri Gotic (was planning on using Hotwire's $30 rebate)

Traveling in August 05, so I still have time too.

Sorry for the overkill...I think I have been posting my question on every related forum.

If you'd like help with those HOTWIRE hotels please provide the dates of your stay and all the amenities that Hotwire associates with the property.

As well, what type of error are you receiving and at what stage of the process... if you're able to see that Priceline offers an East and West zone, i'm not sure where you are getting an error.

PS- please try to keep all questions that are not general in nature and which pertain to the same stay in this same thread, it makes the thread easier to read by being more continuous and also helps makes keep the board organized

By error message I meant that I was getting one from betterbidding when I searched for 'Barcelona'. This is the message I was getting.

Sorry, an error occured. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

Sorry, the board administrator has enabled search flood control. Please wait at least 20 seconds before trying again.

I just check again and apparently the reason why I was getting this error is because no one had ever posted anything about Barcelona before. The error message was unclear and made me think that I was not using the search feature correctly. I think a message saying, "No results were found your search" would have made more sense.

As for travel dates, we are staying 8/30/05-09/02/05. For the 3*, it offers restaurant, business center, and internet. The 4* is not showing up, but there is a 3.5* offering restaurant, pool, fitness center, internet, and business center for $90/night.

Thanks for your help!

See the last line in the quote, now highlighted in red... that is the reason for your error. If there were no results in your search you do get an error message "Sorry, but we did not find any matches to display"

(if you were correct, then at the very least, the search would have returned your own posts where you mention Barcelona)

Not sure if there if the coding in search links expire, but these are the SEARCH RESULTS i believe you are looking for.

The 4* hotel shows up when I put in 8/30-8/31/05 for my stay. That hotel offers only a restaurant and internet.

I'm pretty sure I would only book these if I could use the $30 Hotwire rebate form, since other sites, such as Expedia have similar rates for similar hotels and you could choose where you are staying (although not knowing is part of the fun of Hotwire/Priceline :) )

Re: error message

I go to 'Search' and then for keywords type in 'barcelona' or 'Barcelona' and then hit return. Is that incorrect?

After more research into my error message, I think it is because there were no new posts regarding Barcelona within the last 30 days, which is my default setting; I guess I should have extended the time frame for old posts.
