NoahF Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Tried $70 - $85 for 3* in Vancouver downtown from May 23 - 26 and rejected. Is it still too early or just because of Victoria Day?Thanks
yellowdog Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) No, i don't belive it's too early to start bidding for May. But it could be that the rates are higher due to the holiday. Have you looked at HOTWIRE for your dates?Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
NoahF Posted April 4, 2010 Author Report Posted April 4, 2010 Thanks for the reply.Yes I did check with Hotwire. The cheapest is 95 in downtown south area which is Holiday Inn I believe. I tried breaking my stay into single days with no luck. :)
yellowdog Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 I really don't have any good answer to you :) It could be that bookings looks good for the hotels and price is high on PRICELINE.My best advice is to have patiance and keep bidding within your budgett. A good idea might be to book a cancelable room. That takes the stress out of bidding many times.Keep us updated and just post if you need any help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
AaronJB Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Regular rates for these dates are high, likely due to the holiday. What would be your desired max budget per night? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
mdrl Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 I tried 4* till $90 for the 5/18 to 5/20 and then separed dates 5/18to5/19 and 5/19to5/20 with no success too.
NoahF Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 I read through old posts of same time last year. People got 4* for about $70. I'd say price of this year is much higher. :)
AaronJB Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Sorry to hear that bids haven't been successful. :) Best of luck and let us know what you decide and if you have further questions.
