shilts
HiTrying to find good hotel for 2 adults and one child from 28/05/10 to 06/06/10 in San Francisco. Looked at hotwire through link on this site and there is 3 1/2 * fisherman's wharf showing for $99 with pool, non-smoking, business, restaurant, fitness which would be good but there doesn't seem to be a lot of choice of hotels and wondered if I should wait a couple of weeks before booking and hope price goes down a bit or thought maybe there's something going on in San Francisco that week and maybe I should book now? Went through hotwire as there's 3 of us and ideally would like a pool but dollar is so strong against my british pound at the moment I am desperate to save money! Does anyone have any advice on whether I should wait? Many thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Spring in San Fran is going to be a busy time for hotels, and a 3.5* for Fisherman's Wharf for $99 for this period does not seem entirely out of the ordinary. There is no way to know whether prices are going to go up or down, but there is a downside and upside - given that this is going to be a busier period, I'm guessing there's not that much room for prices to come down. However, if traffic comes in higher than expected, prices could easily go up - and prices on HOTWIRE do jump suddenly or options become no longer available. You can wait for prices to decline, but you definitely risk being stuck without an acceptable option at all if the prices suddenly jump. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. shilts
Thanks for the advice. I did wait a while and price went up but now back to $99 so booked it (through the HOTWIRE link on here). Got the Sheraton at Fisherman's Wharf which I'm really happy with as stayed there years ago before the refurb and paid lots more than that even then.amenities: no smoking, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, high speed internetReally grateful for all the advice on this forum, never would have booked on HOTWIRE without it.Many thanks! shilts
Thanks again for the advice - so glad I didn't wait as prices have risen well above my budget and nothing in Fishermans wharf now for the price I paid . Looks like I booked at exactly the right time and shows not always good to wait too long. Link to comment
