michiganwolverines01 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Great forum,I'm taking my son to NYC June 22 to see a baseball game. I'm thinking of staying somewhere near TS but I'm open to other areas near midtown. Where should I start bidding for a 3 star? $100, $125? What other areas should I include? Thanks :)

Is this realistic?
AaronJB Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Which other Midtown zones would you be interested in? The issue with 3.5* in MTE is that the Millennium UN is a possibility, and that hotel is a bit far East in MTE - while a nice hotel, it's out of the way. $125 for a Midtown 3.5* is worth trying and does certainly have a chance, but rates are somewhat high on these dates and 3.5* may require a higher bid than $125.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I really don't want to be that far off the beaten path. I'm thinking of lowering my price and bidding on a 3 star just to avoid this. Maybe $100 per night? I'd rather stay in a lower grade hotel in a better location as long as it's clean.
AaronJB Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Would the MTW, TS, Madison Square Garden and CPS zones be acceptable?
michiganwolverines01 Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 Would the MTW, TS, Madison Square Garden and CPS zones be acceptable? That should work out great, close to everything, I think.
AaronJB Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 You could try $100 for a 3* MSG, if not accepted $105 for a 3* MSG/MTW, $110 for a MSG/MTW/CPS and then $115 for a 3* MSG/MTW/CPS/TS.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

All the reviews are positive for this hotel. I wasn't considering Chelsea at first but decided to add it so I could bid again considering it's relative closeness to TS and Midtown. Boy am I glad I did. According to the reviews, the hotel is only a few blocks south of Penn Station. We're going to park in New Jersey and take the train to PS so this should work out great. Thanks again! :)
AaronJB Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Congratulations on your success. :)This is a wonderful deal for this Indigo property, which is a very new hotel - it opened in the second half of 2009, and this is the first time that it has been reported to the board. Thank you for letting us know about this new PRICELINE property to add to the site's Priceline Hotel List for the state.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
