I am looking to stay in Monterey on July 21, 2010 for 1 night. I would prefer a 3.5* or 4*, I prefer Monterey or seaside zone. Whats the best way to go about getting a room for as inexpensive as possible.

Im ok in either zone. I would like to be under $100/night with taxes.

In terms of a 3.5*/4*, a property under $100 unfortunately seems unlikely, given the rates that I'm seeing for these dates - if one were to accept in this range, it would most likely be at the high end ($95-100).

It's best to start trying now - if you wait and traffic comes in higher than expected, there is certainly a chance that prices could ramp up further.

Given that currently the highest rated hotel in the Marina-Seaside zone is 3 stars - as noted above - are you also okay with a 3* in either zone?
