caravan Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 Will be booking just for myself, and then offering to others going to the convention to share. However, looking at the hotels HOTWIRE seems to utilize in the area, it seems like it is either the Tuscany Suites or Desert Rose. Pretty sure neither will work for me.BUT, I have a coupon for $30 from PRICELINE.com with a three night, three star minimum, which works fine..I need to be walking distance to the convention center or the monorail. Should I request a 3 or 3.5 star and what am I likely to get? I used PRICELINE quite a bit in the past, but Vegas can be a gamble, as we all know. Do not want to end up at the Riviera, Sahara, Imperial Palace, etc. I will not have a car, so proximity to convention center or monorail is a must.I can pay up to $50 incl all taxes. Any suggestion?
thereuare Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Given your geography concerns i don't think i'd use PRICELINE for this stay as there is no way to pinpoint you being close enough to the monorail or convention center, unless you look at the PRICELINE zones and see any zone(s) in which you could accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone.If/when you do decide to use PRICELINE, please note you can still use your bonus money along with your PRICELINE link:1) click our link to PRICELINE2) go to the MY PROFILE>>MY REWARDS link on the top right of their home page3) use the bonus link there to begin your biddingThe HOTWIRE 2adults search property is a match for the Tuscany so that would be my best guess for that one. For the 3adults search, If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all " link on top of the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above?HOWEVER, are both of these HOTWIRE properties over your $50 all-in budget? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. caravan Posted March 25, 2010 Author Report Posted March 25, 2010 Thanks for the info. The HOTWIRE two adts rate was within my budget, but when I clicked "continue" it indicated an extra $15 per night resort fee.I am going to have to look at the PRICELINE zone map and make sure it can work. A 3.5 on the strip would work fine. Not sure if I am better off using my bonus bucks and book by today, or wait until the date gets closer to see if I can get a better deal.

caravan Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 Hello,Here is my priceline dilmema.I received an email for a $30 reward toward a hotel booking to expire on 3/31/2010. I made a request on 3/30 but did not confirm until 4/01/2010. I was aware the reward had expired and accepted my mistake in waiting. After confirming and paying for the reservation, however, I received an email extending my $30 reward until 05/23/2010. I have since called priceline several times, spooken to customer service agents in the Philippines and Mexico, and cannot get the $30 credited to the current reservation. I know it is a long shot, but just seems an unfair practice. Is there any other number/dept. that I can or should speak with?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thereuare Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Please note:You can still use our PRICELINE link along with your reward as follows:1) click our link to go to PRICELINE2) use the MY PROFILE >> MY REWARDS link at the top right of their home page3) use the link in your profile (not) in the email sent to youIn regards to your situation above, I don't think you have any chance in getting PRICELINE to apply the coupon retroactively... purchase another hotel before 5/23 :)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
