Hotwire Hotel: 3* or 4* Times Square Hotel for $250 or less on 4/16 to 4/18?

I've been trying to find a Times Square or Mid-town hotel room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) for less than $250 on 4/16 to 4/18. Nothing has popped up on Hotwire recently. I usually opt for 4* hotels in NYC on Hotwire because the differences among 3* hotels in NYC can be vast. A nice 3* hotel would be great too, as we really don't need a ton of amenities-just a decent sized room with soft beds and a nice bathroom. I paid only $149 per night for Crowne Plaza in Times Square last year on 4th of July weekend and I keep hoping for a similar deal. I'm dreaming, right?

You might want to tyr the new Staybridge Suites opening today. They have rates w/ 2 beds for $237.

While this would not be right near TS, the 4* 70 Park Avenue is on sale for $242 via Expedia for a 2 double deluxe room. Then, coupon code 10WINTER takes another $10 off - $232. While not right near TS, this is a very nice Kimpton boutique property, and in a very nice area just a little bit South of Grand Central. The new Distrikt Hotel would be closer to TS, although is a boutique 3* versus the 4* 70 Park. That is $264 on Orbitz for a 2 doubles room, but coupon code FABSAVE10 works for 10% off.

I just checked HOTWIRE and there is a 4* Times Square hotel for $259. Do you know what hotel that is? Would you recommend it over the Kimpton property?

Hi, I just checked the amenities for the 4* hotel in Times Square on hotwire for 4/16 to 4/18 as follows:

suite

fitness center

restaurant

business center

high speed internet

It looks like Doubletree Guest Suites was listed for a 4/17 to 4/19 win. Is this hotel the doubletree?
