elei854 Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Just 10 minutes ago, I did succeed bidding for Turtlebay resort in Ohau from 29th of May to 31st of May (2 nights)But the price seems not good enough.. $175 per night. ($409 including whole two nights and tax)Actually, the schedule is on weekend so I thought I should pay more than expected.'Expedia' price shows $488 so my internal maginot line for bidding was $390 (20% off). But after several failures, I was getting impatient. At that time, PRICELINE suddenly proposed $25 increase bidding without any changes. The system said this is one chance it can give to me, because system tried very deeply but can't find any matching.(Is this rare phenomenon? or sometimes happens?)Anyhow, I increased $25 more which is definately over my internal maginot budget. But, I finally was able to see the SUCCESS notice.I'm......happy now, because one of my friend who just returned his honeymoon recommended a lot Turtlebay Resort.Looking forward to being here soon. Thanks

jeffnickc Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 I, too, have been bidding on the Turtle Bay Resort on Priceline and was also given a "one time only" no-change re-bid as long as I increased my bid $25. I did not re-bid, because it would have put me over the price I could have obtained on Hotwire. Presumably, since Turtle Bay Resort is the only true resort on Oahu's North Shore, and it is so easy to identify it on Hotwire, or ensure you get it on Priceline, that the discounts aren't as great as we are accustomed to for other locations.
