eripey Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 This is going to be my second time using priceline to bid for a hotel in Maui and this site was useful the first time.I haven't bid yet but this is going to my strategy. My goal is to get the Hyatt, but the other resorts seem to be fine if I don't get the Hyatt.First bid: $110 (Resort, Ka'anapali-Lahaina)If rejectedSecond bid: $120 (Resort, Ka'anapali-Lahaina, Kihei)if rejectedThird bid: $130 (Resort, Ka'anapali-Lahaina, Kihei, kahului)if rejectFourth bid: $140 (Resort, Ka'anapali-Lahaina, Kihei, kahului, Wailea - Makena)Am I missing any zones for free rebids?if there aren't any suggestions, I will use the link on the message board to start my bidding tonight and will let everyone know how it goes.Thanks.
thereuare Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Your strategy above potentially leaves you open to an overbid in the Wailea zone... are you interested in a Resort class property? If so, do you prefer the Kaanapali zone and are willing to pay more for it OR is your goal the least expensive Resort class property either in the Wailea or Kaanapali zones?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. I ended bidding 3 times starting and rejected, I didn't use the Wailea zone for the 4th rebid.First bid: $110 (Resort, Ka'anapali-Lahaina) - rejectedSecond bid: $120 (Resort, Ka'anapali-Lahaina, Kihei) - rejectedThird bid: $130 (Resort, Ka'anapali-Lahaina, Kihei, kahului) - rejectedI plan on trying again tonight starting at $135 at $5 increments.
