jamie29 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I'm wanting to book a hotel for 4/17-4/24 for our family of four. I've been reading the forum for a while, and playing around at hotwire, trying to figure out what to do. Right now a 3.5 star hotel is like $99 a night, and from the ammenities listed appears to be the Crown. I was think about waiting to book until about a week before hoping to get a better deal. When I changed my dates to 4/11-4/17, there is a 3.5 star for $49, but matching up the ammenities, this appears to be the Sheraton. I'm concerned because if you go to the Sheraton's website, they don't even offer rooms for kids, and when I put in my info, they tell me there are no rooms for the dates of 4/11-4/17, so how could hotwire possibly be offering this property if the hotel itself says it's not available. I'm really afraid to book my room the week before my vacation and find out I'm getting a hotel that won't accomodate our family of four. I've read a ton of horror stories and I really want a good deal, but am very apprehensive about doing this. Any help would be appreciated. Also can anyone explain the possibility of being charged extra fees after booking? Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! When you search HOTWIRE are you including 2adults/2children in your search? Are you vacation dates flexible in that you're searching two different sets of dates OR just comparing your actual dates to fictitious dates for comparison purposes? What are the amenities HOTWIRE associates with the 4/11-4/17 offering? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jamie29 Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 We are booking for 2 children and 2 adults, so that's why Priceline is out of the question. I was using the 4/11 date just for comparison. My husband said he only wants to book a hotel from 4/18 to 4/23, which again changes the options. The best value is a 3.5 star for $49, Bloomington west. The amenities are smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, laudry, high speed internet, and golf nearby. I'm just so confused. I want to book the room because it seems like a good deal, but don't want to ruin the family vacation. What do you think. Is this the Crowne, because according to Sheridan's website they are booked for what I'm asking for? Thanks for any help. I will most definitely be booking through your link. This is such a great site!!!!

jamie29 Posted April 10, 2010 Author Report Posted April 10, 2010 Amenities listedSmoke Free RoomsComplimentary BreakfastFitness CenterPoolBusiness CenterHigh Speed Internet AccessWe were originally trying to get the Sheraton in Bloomington West, but after some research decided that the Hyatt would better suit our needs with the kitchenette (which is not listed in the amenities, but we knew all the rooms are equipped with this from visiting Hyatt's website) and free high speed internet. We were very pleased to get this win and we of course booked through the HOTWIRE link on this site as we could have never figured out what we were doing without this place! We booked for 2 adults and 2 children, so should get a two bed room. Our total with tax for the 5 nights was $323.70, which was a steal compared to booking at the hotel's website, where their nonrefundable discount price would have been $699 pre tax for the 5 nights. Can't thank you guys enough!!!
yellowdog Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your result with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to book this :) Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
