q_tilly Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 San Jose's a busy place the week of Feb 28. The downtown Hyatt St. Claire and Marriott are both sold out for one or more days and my 3* Downtown bids failed at 37 and 40 (Redwood City for the rebid). Switched to SJC at 2.5* with the hope of winning one the "typical" 2.5's (Courtyard or maybe one of the Suite hotels) while knowing an upgrade to 3* was likely if I bid $37. Failed bids at $30 and $35 (adding downtown San Jose). Added Redwood City at $37 and was upgraded to the Hyatt San Jose. $129 on Hyatt's website. Reviews aren't great, but how bad can it really be for $37??Check-In Date: Monday, February 28, 2005 Check-Out Date: Friday, March 4, 2005 Hotel Name: Hyatt San Jose1740 N 1st St San Jose, California 95112 Your Offer Price: $37.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $148.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $24.47 Total Charges: $172.47 Great job with this board, thereuare. :)
thereuare Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Congratulations on your win!Thank you for the compliments on the board, they're much appreciated (especially after a server change! :) ). We appreciate you posting and sharing the details of your win... it's posts like yours, and the rest of our members, that help to make this board so great!I'm with you... i'd find it hard to find any fault with a Hyatt i was staying at for $37/nite!Enjoy your stay.
