mdrl Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Hi,I am staying a few days around Miami as you may see on my previous topics. But now, I am looking to stay 1 night on Miami (Beach or South Beach) 4* Friday, 16th April.(And an other night Monday 19th)Do you know how much I have to expect to pay for 1 night ?I already tried till 130dollars (157 with tax) all rejected.I am biding since one week incresing dollars by dollars. In Hotwire, they have for a 4*, $219 being the less expensive. If I consider, as I saw in an other post, 20% less on Priceline prices I should expect a night at $175. Is it Right ?At the beginning I was not willing to pay more than $120 but now I see that Miami it's really expensive.I saw that some people won the Edoc or Palms at $114.Which zone is the best if I consider to choose a 3* in Miami beach : (6)Miami Beach, (13) South Beach - Central, (14) South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront or (15) South Beach - Ocean Drive ?Thanks
mdrl Posted March 29, 2010 Author Report Posted March 29, 2010 Hi,I am on panic.I was triing to bid a 4* at Miami Beach for $140 ( 170 with tax)I should make a error on the free rebid.I had for this price Miami Lakes - Hialeah, a 3.5* hotel, far away of the beachI dont know Miami. I know its not possible to cancel. I am sorry I am sure its a a commom post. Please there is a way to cancel this booking ?Thank you
yellowdog Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I like the South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront zone best if you ask me. But everything depends on what you plan to do.I don't think $120 ish will cut it for you. But all depends on the zone you deside to go for. So it's hard to answer your question. But the 20% less on PRICELINE is not a rule, it's an approx help figure. If you would like to get help with a bidding strategy so please post your budget/night, zone(s) you're willing to stay in and the rating for the hotel.Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.

I emailed the hotel : no response. Conclusion : I really screwed up : the hotel is far away from the beach and its far away of my budget for this hotel.
thereuare Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Sorry to hear of your bidding mistake. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the date(s) of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.If you called PRICELINE and they're not willing to cancel (even if for a fee) there isn't much you can do. However, they do have a best price guarantee so they should at least be willing to match the lower price at the hotel as well as offer some other things with their current 'big deal' promotion (see the details at HERE) If you can't get this canceled, and since this is only for one nite of a multi-nite trip, why not "make do" with the hotel/location and just use the hotel as a place to sleep... driving to the beach or where ever else your plans may take you? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.THANKS! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thereuare Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Did you win Shula's for the nite of 4/16?Have you seen my comments in your Priceline Miami Hotel thread? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
