phark Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I followed your suggestions when my first bid of $30 was reject by selecting 1* (which I knew didn't exist in the Southeast or Downtown areas) and raising my bid by $5.Great website, thanks! GO BLUEphark(former MI resident) :)
thereuare Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your win!Which Priceline zone is this Crowne Plaza in? It appears to be the SouthEast zone, is that correct?Did you really lower your bid to 1 star? This seems pretty risky as Priceline does indicate that they do have 1 star hotels in this area. You can see the proper way to figure out what star quality levels are in each zone in the PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED thread.Enjoy your time 'back home'... and GO BLUE! phark Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 Yes, it is in the SouthEast zone.I couldn't think of of any hotels that would be listed a 1* in that area, so I wasn't too worried about the risk.
STC Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Yes, I'll testify that this is not a good strategy to follow. Note the 1* motel, Super 8, now listed on the Priceline pinned list for Grand Rapids Southeast. (grin)
