sky123 Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Hi, I am new to PRICELINE,I just need a hotel for one to two days in Trinidad by the airport and I noticed that PRICELINE does have a name your own price for that area, however I can't find any information on what these hotels may be. There is a 2 star and a 2 and a half star listed on the nyop. The region circled on the map is pretty small, but does anyone know anything about these hotels as it kind of scares me to just bid in the dark. Also, what price should I attempt? I tried the search on these forums so I don't think this has already been mentioned, but sorry if it has. Thanks for the help!

sky123 Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 yes, the airport I will be going through is in Port of Spain.
thereuare Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 The Courtyard is at least one possibility at the 2.5* level. What are the date(s) of your stay? What is your maximum bid for this stay? Did you want to try for the 2.5* hotel, 2* hotel, or both? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sky123 Posted March 29, 2010 Author Report Posted March 29, 2010 I am not 100% sure of the dates yet, but either the end of June or beginning to mid July. I will probably stay for two days and I would like to stay around 50 dollars, but I realize I will probably need to be on the higher side with the price so I can be flexible. I will most likely try bidding for both ratings, but I would prefer the 2 and a half star if I can get it for the right price.I have read that the bid price is for double occupancy. Does that mean that a single person staying will be charged more? Also, is the price I bid the price I will be charged in the end or are there taxes and fees on top of it? If there are taxes and fees added I definitely want to keep the bid around 50 dollars a night. Thanks for the help!
thereuare Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Your bid is for up to double occupancy, so no problem showing up as a solo traveler. There will be taxes and fees added to your bid, and you can see how much this will be by going to PRICELINE, enter the city and dates, select the star rating and bid amount, then on the next page (before you enter any credit card info) you'll see a breakdown of the total cost should your bid be accepted.Let us know once your plans/dates are firm and we'll have a look at current prices for the dates of your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
