We will be making our way to the USA from Australia for our honeymoon May/June. I'd like some advice/strategy on bidding on Priceline for our NYC stay 5/30- 6/5 (6 nights)As it will be our 1st time to NYC we'd like to stay where most attractions/sights are close by and also close to the subway system. Areas we would like to try for are MTE, MTW, CPS, TS, ESB & MSG. Our Budget is $150 per night all in for a minimum 3* star hotel. Can you please advise a bidding strategy based on the above Thankyou

As long as you don't mind the potential 10-15 minute walk to the subway, i don't think you can go too wrong with either. They did come back and offer me on my $128 bid (final) to up my bid by $22 and they perhaps could have got me something. So it looks like its back to the drawing board. As I am on a tight budget I can't go over $150p/n all included so Im happy to drop to a 2 1/2 star in those same areas, ESB, MTE, MTW, CPS, TS, MSG ? your help would be appreciated. Thankyou

With splitting the bidding, does that mean we will have to change hotels? if so I'm not keen on that option. Perhaps I could look at 3 star but add another area - Chelsea? what are you thoughts. with the 2.5 star bidding should I start at the same level as previous strategy ie $90 and then upwards from that.

slats77 Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Ok yay!! we finally won on my final bid at 3* @ $150 p/night. We won at upgraded to 3.5* at Hudson, A Morgans Original midtown. This hotel is going for $225p/n on the other sites. It has received mixed reviews but we are happy Thankyou so much for your help :)
