sassystrick Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 We will be staying in Miami for one night as a result of a AA flight schedule change. We would like to stay in S. Beach Monday night 6/2. How much should I expect to pay for a 4* hotel and which hotels are generally offered on Priceline? Same question for 3*???Suggestions on bid strategy would be great. Thanks
thereuare Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 The lowest price i've seen for a 4* hotel in SoBe is $70, and go as high as $90 or so. I would guess hotels in the 3* category probably start at about $50 and go up from there. Here is a list of the hotels that have been received in the past (page down to Miami (South Beach)): Priceline Hotel List by City (keep in mind, there are likely others that can be received that have not yet been reported)The advantage of 4* bidding in this zone is that you have lots of re-bid opportunites (Re-Bidding Explained). If you want to try for a 4*, i would start at $65 and raise your bid by $5 for each re-bid until you hit the maximum amount you want to spend. If you want to try for 3*, post back and i'll make a strategy for that as well (i'd have to look up the re-bid zones, that's why i didn't supply it just yet).If you don't understand re-bidding, or have any other questions, feel free to ask.
