Priceline Hotel: Bidding for 3* in St Pete Beach 3/31-4/2/2010

Hello!

I'm looking to land a 3+-star hotel for five people (2 adults, 1-teen & 2 kids) in St Pete Beach for Wednesday & Thursday nights, 3/31-4/2/2010. Ideally I'd love 4-star but I'd like to keep my budget as close to $75 as possible for the night.

Here's what I found doing the better bidding search.

Priceline: *** in St Pete Beach, FL $100 on up

Hotwire: *** in St Pete Beach, FL $96 on up

Expedia: *** in St Pete Beach, FL $149 on up

As PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, and you'll be five, are you willing to accept the risk that you may receive a room with only one bed (or that the hotel may have issue with 5 people in one room?)... or were you bidding for more than one room?

If you're still looking to bid for this stay, did you want to first try for a 4* up to your limit, then try for a 3.5*, then a 3*... or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay?

I got the Postcard Inn on the beach in St. Peterburg (best area) for $66/night staying 4-29 to 5-2. I bid this on priceline about a month ago. It's a 3star place, and price would have been $164/night if purchased directly from PRICELINE.
