WheelerAH Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 :) I have somehow wound up with this hotel after bidding 3*'s on Priceline. The reviews I have read have not been glowing, in fact, they are down right horrible. If any one has stayed here and can give me an idea of what I have gotten myself into, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
thereuare Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please post the details of your bid.... dates, bid amount, previously rejected bid if any, etc, etc..I assume this was in the Miami (Coral Gables) zone?Thank you. WheelerAH Posted February 4, 2005 Author Report Posted February 4, 2005 Yes, it was the Miami-Coral Gables zone. I was trying to get downtown, but it was not accepted, so I added Coral Gables, thinking I would not get that zone because I did not think there were 3* hotels there. I guess I was wrong. I originally started at $46.00 and went up from there. Check-In Date: Sun, Oct 9, 2005 Check-Out Date: Mon, Oct 10, 2005 Your Offer Price: $50.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.09 Total Charges: $64.09 I am not familiar with the area, so I don't know how well I did. Any help would be great!
thereuare Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Is this the Holdiay Inn - Business District (2051 LE JEUNE RD.)? There is another Holiday Inn at the University of Miami on Dixie Highway. If this is the Business District hotel they offer a non-refundable rate for this date for $79... so the savings weren't there but i think you could have done much worse given that you could have made a mistake on your re-bid zone and ended up much, much, further away. You may want to use this thread to ask questions about re-bidding in order to make sure you know how to check/confirm your re-bid zones in the future. Re-bidding is explained in more detail in this thread: PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and also discusses the property way to figure out your re-bid zones.Any questions feel free to ask, and for future bids, ask for a bidding strategy and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Enjoy your stay. CruiserAngie Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Thanks for all of your help. I was not all that concerned about the location, I was just worried about the upkeep of the hotel. I can't imagine the Holiday Inn having a run down property, especially in that area. I guess time will tell. Thanks again.
