I put in a bid for $100 for 4* choosing only River North. It denied my bid but gave another free bid. I put in $110 and it was accepted for the Sheraton Chicago Hotel Tower on 4/16-4/18. It was about a $100 less a night than the hotel website, so I'm happy.

Congratulations on your success. :)

As I've noted on other threads for hotels in this area, I'll highly recommend Fox and Obel Cafe and Market, which is a very nice gourmet market a couple of blocks East on Illinois and McClurg. While PRICELINE and HOTWIRE aren't eligible for upgrades, a fair amount of rooms at this property - given where it's located - do at least have decent views of the surrounding area. You could try to ask for a room on a high floor and see what they say. Front of the hotel looks at the city and may have at least a partial lake view (depending.) West side of the building may not have a view, depending on floor, or may have decent city view and/or partial river view. The back of the hotel (south side of building) would likely have either river view and/or city view. The East side of the building may have a lake and/or river view. Again, it all depends and some rooms (especially on lower floors) may have no view or nothing special.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.
