eavesp Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 This reservation included three bids. The first was for dates 3/27/10 - 04/02/10. My bid of $40 was countered with $52. I rejected this. I entered another bid for dates 03/27/10 - 04/01/10 for $42. This was accepted. When given the option to extend stay at same price, I received a counter offer of $98. I rejected this.I then entered another bid for dates 04/01/10 - 04/02/10 for $42. This was accepted. What I learned is that if you need an extended stay and are willing to move hotels, you can get a lower price by breaking up the dates into separate bids. As it turned out, I was able to get the same hotel for the same price by taking the risk of having to possibly move if given a different hotel. I assume I got the same hotel because there are not that many 3* hotels in Flagstaff and the Marriott seems to be the one that mostly commonly accepts bids. :)
