ssmbandit Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Terrific website! If you do your homework and listen to the experts you can find a great deal.I am a seasoned traveler to Vegas and have stayed at most of the larger hotels/casinos. I know this is very far in advance, but the best deal I could find was the Imperial Palace for $235 for 3 nights, not including tax. That was on IP's website listed as the "Casino Gold" package. Friday and Saturday nights have become very expensive over the years and $39 rooms go for $149. The Westin is a more modern hotel and has rooms that were recently remodeled when the hotel changed hands (formerly the Maxim). It is two blocks from the strip and a 3 minute walk. The monorail is across the street at Ballys. It is close to the airport if you are arriving in a taxi.My initial bid was for $50 a night. Priceline countered with $72. I used my free bids in $5 increments. My $65 bid was accepted. I don't think it is too bad considering the travel websites I checked offered the same room for between $133 and $159 a night.
thereuare Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your win and bid history with the board. One problem with Priceline and Vegas is that your bid must be high enough to win each nite on it's own... not the cost of your complete stay. Therefore when bidding mid-week and weekend nites together, you're almost certainly overpaying for the midweek nites. For anyone that wants more info on this it is explained in more detail in SPLITTING THE BID.Enjoy your stay and Good Luck in Vegas!
