Bidding Tipper Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Have been bidding for a week now, and it seems like most prices are high during this duration. Just checked the list of events going on in NYC, and there is the world's biggest Cloud Computing Expo going on between the 19th and 21st of April. Have been bidding numerous times from 4* all the way down to 2.5*. Have mainly played between $80 and $120. But got my room with a winning bid of $117. Thought I could snag one of MSG Convention / Chelsea 2.5* hotels for that price, but ended up with Eastgate Tower, though TripAdviser has pretty decent ratings for this hotel: Eastgate Tower Reviews . Anyway, I could have done much worse and am happy for what I got at that price. Thanks for all the help on this board!
thereuare Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you're happy with the results and this property will work well for your needs. If you like hamburgers give The Jackson Hole a try, just around the corner from this hotel on Third Ave at 35th St... very big and filling, so makes for an inexpensive lunch or dinner. Also, at Third Ave and 37th St is El Rio Grande, i wouldn't necessarily go there for dinner (not bad, but you can do better in NYC) but grab a $10 :) margarita at the bar and have some of their chips and salsa... both the chips and margaritas are great.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
