jdm Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 $122. Recommended in 85% of customer reviews. Fitness, Restaurant, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessWould this be the Inter-Continental?I'm thinking of waiting to book about a week before incase rain is in the forcast (for May 15-17). Are prices likely to go up by then? If there is a better place to post this question, let me know where. Thanks
AaronJB Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I'm seeing a 4.5* on HOTWIRE when I search w/fitness, restaurant, business, internet for $114 and it is a regular rate offering through Hotels.com. Are you searching for more than 2 people on HOTWIRE?Funny enough, I just looked at Orbitz.com for these dates, and the Conrad is $114 - which is quite unusual; it's rare that this is the cheapest regular rate 4* in the zone, and the other 4*'s in the zone on these dates are more expensive - the next cheapest is $157. If you use coupon code FABSAVE10, that takes an additional 10% off, so that would be a better deal than the HOTWIRE listing. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or Orbitz.com or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AaronJB Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 When I search for 2 adults/2 children, I'm seeing a 4.5* Mag Mile with fitness, restaurant, business, internet for $122, and that is a HOTWIRE listing; that would possibly be the Conrad, Intercontinental or James.
jdm Posted March 23, 2010 Author Report Posted March 23, 2010 Yes, I searched for 2 adults and 1 child. The 4* was more expensive but..Now when I search the same way it's $114 for the 4.5* by Hotels.com. and now the 4* is cheaper at $96. hum.Is it a bad idea to book the week before? I'm just nervous to book a non-refundable room since we probably won't go if it's a rainy weekend.
AaronJB Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Waiting until a week prior is not necessarily a bad idea, but one definitely does risk options not being available and/or prices being higher - there's no way to know for sure what prices will do between now and then, unfortunately. If you do book full price/non-refundable though, I'd suggest going through Expedia.com and using coupon code 10WINTER for $10 off the Conrad - $104 for a deluxe two doubles. If you search for 3 people in the room on Orbitz, the price will be higher. If it rains, there is still plenty of public transit to get around the city.Thank you for using the site's Expedia, HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
