Started 4* DT $75. Got a counter offer for an additional $22. Didn't take it. I added a free zone & bid $80. Got the Loews. Read the reviews which are mixed. We're crossing our fingers. Is it easy to get to & from the airport without a car? Any tips on using public transportation to/from this Hotel? Any great restaurants near by? Thanks for your help. I love this site. I used the PRICELINE link from this site.

Congratulations on your success!

Nicely done! Glad to see you're happy with the results and the deal you received.

I don't know too much about mass transit in Philadelphia, although looking at this hotel's location (1200 Market Street, Philadelphia) on the map at MAPS and HOTELS.com there does seem to be a LOT of mass transit options in this area.

Hopefully somebody local or who knows the area better can comment on how to best get around and to/from the airport as well as make some restaurant recommendations in the area.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.

Enjoy your stay.

It is very simple to get from the airport to your hotel/ There is a Septa train that goes right out to the airport & stops at every airport terminal . I think it is a $7.00 one way charge into the city. You can get off at the Market East station & walk about a block to your hotel as it is right on Market St. Philly is a great town - I lived there for 4 years. You can walk to all major attractions & sites. For restaurants try any of Stephen Starr's restaurants...

Here is a link to SEPTA - the local transit system & a schedule for the airport line

Starr restaurants:

Been to Alma de Cuba, Buddakhan, Jones, & El Vez, & the Continental - All really good except Jones was just OK

Vetri is very good & also Osteria up on North Broad gets great reviews.

I have also heard great things about

Amada (spanish tapas)http://www.amadarestaurant.com/

& Chifa (Latin/Asian) http://www.chifarestaurant.com/

There are soooo many great restaurants in Philly it is hard to choose. Make sure you visit the Reading Terminal Market - It is a great place for lunch & great fresh local foods.

If you have time go to the Art Museum - It is one of the best in the world & the architecture alone is worth the trip
