mjoe Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Love this site. I know I bid early but I didn't want to wait & have uncertainty on where I would stay. From the winning calendar from these dates last year the lowest 4* that was reported was $110.I tried 4* up to $120 in TS, MTE, MTW & CPS with no success. Closed the window & re-started. Got The Empire on the first try for UWS for $120. The lowest rate available on the Hotel website is $259/night. So I'm very happy with the rate. Hopefully it will be a nice hotel. I used the PRICELINE link from this site. Has anybody on this site ever stayed there? I looked at the reviews. They are mixed but generally good. Is mid July usually a busy time in NYC? Any tips on good restaurants around the Hotel? Any tips on public transportation from this Hotel? We will be arriving & departing NYC from Penn Station.
AaronJB Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Congratulations on your success! :)Sweet deal for this NYC property in the Summer! Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Glad to see you're pleased with the results.Assuming your bags are managable/wheelable and you walk up/down a few flights of stairs with them, you can easily get to this hotel from Penn Station... just get on the A or C train to Columbus Circle, then it's a short 3 block walk to the hotel.Have a great trip. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mjoe Posted March 21, 2010 Author Report Posted March 21, 2010 Thanks for the info. Yes, our bags will be managable. This trip we're travelling, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphis, Atlantic City, New York, Canada & back to Seattle. This is our trial run to practise travelling lite for 17 days through several airports/train stations & several hotels. We want to practise & be prepared for our 3 weeks in Italy next year :)
