samrazik Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 I'm booking for 4/30-5/7, 1-2people, San Diego, Gaslamp Quarter via HotwireCan you help ID:5* (only one with this rating) $168smoke free, fitness, restaurants, business center, high speed internet4* $109boutique, smoke free, fitness, restaurant, high speed internetAlso,I see that many people are getting Marriot via 4* bid a little below $70 on Priceline. I'd rather not stay there and would be willing to pay more for another hotel.. would starting a bid at 75 more likely get picked up by the Omni or Westin? I realize you can't really zone in on Gaslamp via Priceline and my chances of being accepted by a hotel on the outskirts is larger..thanks for any help!
thereuare Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! The 5* property is a match for the U.S. Grant Hotel while the 4* is a match for the Hotel Indigo so that would be my best guess for each.On PRICELINE it's not recommended to bid high for a 'better' hotel, as you could just as easily end up overbidding and receiving the hotel you were trying to avoid... compounding the issue by paying too much for it. If there is a hotel in the zone you're trying to avoid then HOTWIRE is usually a better option. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too!Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
