cchan Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 i saw some $75-80's for the westin recently on this board, so i was actually trying to nab that rate. i checked hotwire before booking today, and the lowest 4* rate jumped $40 from last night. note to self: don't wait when a great rate presents itself!anyways, i proceeded to the priceline rebid process. nothing at 65, 70, 75, 80, 85... at this point, i was starting to get worried. i did 90 and finally decided to end my bidding at 95 no matter what (okay, probably would've entered 100 and 105 if it came down to it). and there it was! i didn't expect to see the grand hyatt at all - something like the alexis, waterfront, vintage, or monaco. as much as i would've liked the westin for 10 or 15 less (my original intent), i am more than happy with this rate. the advertised rate on the hyatt website is over double what i'll be paying.thanks for all the tips before i made my first ever priceline purchase! hopefully this helps someone else as well.now if only i can find a cheap place to park my car in seattle as well...

inspiration100 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 now if only i can find a cheap place to park my car in seattle as well...Afraid there is not such a thing in Seattle. Unless you were to park at the U district area and bus in (which I don't recommend by any means).Congrats on your win and good luck on the quest for cheap parking :). If you find something cheap, let us know. The Seattle hotel guy.... Stayed in 14 hotels downtown and counting! Favorite Hotel Downtown: The Camlin Seattle (It's now a timeshare)
