tcfromga Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 Searching for two adults, 5/14-5/16, Mag Mile area, I am getting a hotwire price of $96 for a 4* with fitness, pool, restaurant, business ctr, hi-speed internet, tennis, and spa. I believe this is the Swissotel; but I'm a little nervous since this would be my first hotwire hotel purchase. Could you please give me your opinion? Also, we will be in town to visit/do a little sightseeing with my daughter, stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base; and she will be staying with us. Is there any way to know we could get double beds? When I put in three occupants, this hotel (any many others) is/are no longer available. Any advice?
AaronJB Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)If you search for more than 2 people, you would get bedding for more than 2 (most likely 2 beds, but possibly 1 + sofabed.) However, this will possibly result in different hotel offerings and prices - if you search for 3 adults, it will likely be more expensive, due to extra person fees that most hotels do add for occupancy beyond 2.What would be your desired budget per night for hotel? If you are driving, you could stay in the North burbs, which would be cheaper & free parking, then take the train in each day. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
tcfromga Posted March 18, 2010 Author Report Posted March 18, 2010 We would like to stay under $100 per night.
AaronJB Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 The Palmer House is $114 on Orbitz for a room w/2 beds when I search for 3 people and coupon code FABSAVE10 takes 10% off = $102.60.That is the cheapest 4* option I'm seeing when searching for 3 adults in the room. When searching for 2 adults in the room, the Palmer deal on Orbitz would be cheaper ($89) and HOTWIRE is offering what looks to be the Swissotel (as mentioned above) for $97.You could also use PRICELINE, although that's only guaranteed for double occupancy/1 bed - if you use it with three people in mind, you definitely do run the possible risk of only getting one bed. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or Orbitz.com or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
