shifp Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Century Plaza Hotel and Spa . I started bidding at $70 and kept adding zones that don't offer 4* hotels.. When I got to $122 they offered a counter bid of $137. I booked this hotel on 1/13.
thereuare Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Did you take the $137 counter-offer?As an FYI, if you had any re-bid zones left you could have tried to under-cut the counter offer, as Priceline's offers can almost always be beaten, as discussed here: PRICELINE SUGGESTS PRICE TO PAY.Thanks for sharing your win... hope you enjoy this stay as much as you enjoyed your others. shifp Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 I took the counter-offer. I was not aware that you can usually under-cut the counter-offer. Oh well, I'll know for next time :)
thereuare Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Information is knowledge, that's what we're about... now you know for next time :) Just an FYI, you can't submit a bid less than the counter-offer without using a re-bid zone (or changing your dates, etc) as it will then be rejected as a duplicate bid. But if you have re-bid zones left than by all means try to save a little more money. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
