I am trying to book one night this weekend in Charleston SC (except North)

There is a college of charleston orientation weekend(my reason) and apparently "fashion week"

am looking for 3* in historic area, folly bch., isle of palms and mt pleasant.

I have been to charleson before and am struggling with securing a single night bid on PRICELINE I have bid $75 for the above areas in $5 increments but am running out of time. Should I keep trying until the night before and see if anything opens up or is that not the right strategy?

This Friday (3/19) 3* as close to historic district as possible (College of Charleston) so ashely river would work but appear to be many 1/2* there so makes me nervous.

This certainly appears to be a tough date due to what's going on - a lot of the downtown hotels are sold out (actually nearly everything appears sold out downtown on Orbitz.)

Are there any listings of interest on HOTWIRE?
