Car rental through Hotwire/priceline & child seat

think it would be rental counter specific... some companies may allow you to reserve in advance once you have received your PRICELINE / HOTWIRE booking, while other companies may only offer it at time of rental pick-up.

Do you own a car seat? While it can be a pain traveling with the car seat(s) along with child(ren) and luggage in tow, using your own ensures you know how to use it, install it, your child's comfort as s/he is accustomed to it, and that it will be available... not to mention renting a car seat thru the rental companies can be expensive.

As there are only a handful of rental companies that PRICELINE and HOTWIRE deal with on thru 'name your own price', i'd call each one (at the location... not central reservations) and ask them if you have a PRICELINE / HOTWIRE booking if they would allow you to reserve a car seat ahead of time.
