I'm in the NY area again from 8/24-8/31, and so far I've booked a 3.5* airport hotel for the night of the 24th and a 3* hotel in New Haven for the night of 8/25 (I have threads on these already). The plan is to take the train up to New Haven on the morning of the 25th, do research at Yale all day on the 25th and the 26th, and then head down to NYC by train, either on the night of the 26th or the morning of the 27th (haven't decided where to spend that night yet).

So I've been playing around with dates and combos. I was trying 8/29-31 for up to $145, practically all Manhattan zones except Lower and Upper East/West Side, 4*. No dice.

Then I started playing with 8/28-31, 4*, MTW at $130 and immediately got the "If you bid $22 higher you can try again" offer. I canceled that and added CPS @ $135 and got the same rebid offer. Rebid at $140, $145, and $150, and I was finally accepted at $150 for the Warwick.

Still haven't decided whether I should overnight in New Haven or NYC!

I used the link.

Congratulations on your success. :)

Quite a nice deal for late Summer in NYC! Please let us know what you decide or if you have any questions regarding staying in New Haven or NYC.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.

Enjoy your stay.

Thanks! I liked the reviews so much that I decided to give rebidding a shot (not the "extend your stay for $150 option). I bid $135 for a 4* from 8/27 - 8/28 in MTW and got the Warwick right away! I suppose this calls for a new thread!
