I am trying to get 2 rooms 3.5* in Disneyland - Anaheim area for 5/5 - 5/8. In the past I have been able to get this for $50 or less no problem. I have put in several bids over the last few days of up to $50 without any response. Am I trying too early? Is there anything going on that week that is driving the prices up? Any ideas would be appreciated.

If any of these wins were within the last year it would be appreciated if you began to share your results with the board :)

Rates don't seem too bad for these dates and i suspect your somewhat close, what is your maximum bid for this stay? I'll also point out that HOTWIRE has what i believe to be the well reviewed Hotel Menage for $59/nite, if this is of any interest (although only 3* rated by PRICELINE)

Let us know if the Hotel Menage is of any interest and your maximum bid for this stay and we'll take it from there.

Thanks, I did post my winnings from the time I started using this website about a year ago.

I noticed Hotel Menage for $59 on HOTWIRE. I could probably make that work, but I was hoping to get a 3.5* on PRICELINE for $50, I could go $55 if I had to. On the flip side, I don't want prices to go up either, so I guess I am not sure what to do. Thanks again for your help.

See the related "bid early or close to arrival" link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

It comes down to how nervous you become when you don't have a reservation on the books 'x weeks' before your stay... some are comfortable waiting until a few days before, others prefer to have their plans in place months ahead of time. Rates for a 3.5* in this zone are generally between $43-$55, so if you choose to bid higher i don't think there is tremendous risk that you'll have made a tremendous over bid and that rates go drastically lower down the road... but likewise you do have some time if you want to try to fish in the lower end of the range.
