Hey I'm driving in to vegas Saturday 3/20 night and going to XS at Encore with some friends so just needed a place to stay after the club with the gf. Didn't want to spend too much money as we're just going to sleep and checkout. A place near Encore seems like it'd be the most convenient so I've just been looking at Strip North. Hotwire has the Riviera (I'm pretty sure) for $67, so I was wondering if I should try some $50-60 bids on priceline strip north 3*'s. Any advice would be great as I've never used priceline or hotwire before. Or if these 3*'s are awful places I just shouldnt stay at or something. =] Thanks! :)

I'm actually also staying Sunday 3/21 but had been thinking of getting something cheap for those few hours saturday night and staying at Wynn Encore or something Sunday night. Now though the more I look at it I feel like I could possibly just go for two nights at the Trump and try to $20 upgrade to a suite. Any input on this would be great, and if theres any difference between bidding one night or two nights that'd be great too. Thanks again!!

Hey I'm now aiming to stay at Trump from 3/20-3/22. I've read the couple posts on splitting bids and it seems like its definitely something I should be doing, although those posts are mostly from like 2006. Any input would be great. thanks =]

Welcome to Betterbidding.

Splitting your stay between two hotels is a possible tactic to use in certain situations, but it is often something that is turned to after attempts at trying to secure something for the whole stay are exhausted. Additionally, splitting the stay is most often done for longer stays - I wouldn't recommend turning to splitting the stay in this situation unless this is a particularly bad set of dates in Vegas.

What would be your budget for a 5*? Additionally, when bidding for a 5* Strip North, you could possibly get something else besides the Trump.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I'm actually aiming pretty low as I've found split single reservations on lastminutetravel for 99 and 73 for a $87 average for the two nights. I was going to split as there seems to be a pretty big price difference everywhere in Vegas between Saturday and Sunday this weekend. I'm also assuming I won't get any other 5*'s as I'm only going to be bidding somewhere around the $80's. Thanks for replying! If I end up with lastminutetravel I would definitely use a referral link if its up yet :T
