Rhine-and-Roses Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 I'm looking at a 5* in Frankfurt for April 9-10 for $122. Amenities: Restaurant, Business Center. Shows 85% approval on 2nd screen. 85% of whose survey? Westin appears to be gone from HOTWIRE, unless they changed their amenities. Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 The percent of customers recommending is taken from feedback HOTWIRE has received from previous customers who have received this property. The property above has not yet been reported to the board, however...I would take a look at the 4* hotel offered in this zone with Restaurant and Fitness icons (best guess is the Movenpick). While it may not be ranked as highly as the 5* hotel above... at $50/nite it's well under half the price of the 5* above and the TA reviews show a very high 4.5/5.0, while the HOTWIRE user recommendation percent is at 90%. All of this points to an EXCELLENT value relative to the 5 star above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Rhine-and-Roses Posted March 14, 2010 Author Report Posted March 14, 2010 Thank you for the suggestion on the Moevenpick, but we want a 5*, hopefully the Westin, though the Hilton would be okay. We go to FRA for a nice cultural evening (English Theater) and then use of the pool/spa. If the hotel doesn't have those amenities, we miss half the fun, so in this instance, we're willing to pay more. Thank you also for explaining how they get their own ratings.
Rhine-and-Roses Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 I now believe this is Le Meridien. The same amenities come up for this hotel when it is listed as Hotels.com hotel on hotwire. We decided to try to get into Frankfurt for Easter weekend. We'll keep trying, using your HOTWIRE link.
Rhine-and-Roses Posted March 29, 2010 Author Report Posted March 29, 2010 We kept seeing only what we thought was Le Meridien on HOTWIRE, so we took a gamble and used Priceline. Tried $100 for east but refused. Added on Airport(free rebid zone) and $105. That was accepted at the hotel we hoped for The Westin Grand, Frankfurt. This is for April 3-4, 2010- this Saturday. I used your PRICELINE link.
