askhan Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Hi, This is my first post. I would like to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago OHare Airport (Address: 2930 South River Road, Des Plaines) from 5/29 or 5/30 through 6/4. I was looking to spend no more than $200 (room plus taxes). Is this feasible? If not, any other recommendations within a few minutes from this hotel? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.Thanks.
thereuare Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! With PRICELINE you can't bid on a specific hotel, you must be willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone you select. Does either get Ohare North or Ohare South zone get you 'close enough' for your needs? If not, you can try searching HOTWIRE to see if any hotels appear within your budget. If so, we can then take the next stop of trying to take a guess as to the ID of each to determine how far it is from your desired location (although there is still some risk involved here as we'd only be taking an educated guess as to the hotel offered).Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. askhan Posted March 12, 2010 Author Report Posted March 12, 2010 Understood that we may not get the exact hotel. I am open to the OHare North & South Regions, however, I am not sure which region is closer to my preferred hotel. I believe the Hilton Garden Inn is considered a 2.5 * hotel in Priceline. If you can help me determine which region I should target, that would great. Thanks.
thereuare Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 The Hilton Garden Inn is in the OHare North zone... but realize it has not been reported to the board via PRICELINE.Did yo only want to bid the North zone or is the South zone acceptable as well?Have you decided upon your arrival date yet? Are you looking for a 2.5* or better hotel? (or did you first want to try for a higher rated property)Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. askhan Posted March 19, 2010 Author Report Posted March 19, 2010 I would prefer staying in the North Zone. I am arriving the morning of May 30 and leaving on June 4th. I would have preferred the Hilton Garden Inn at 2.5* however, I am open to a 3* or 4* as long as the price is right and it is close to the Hilton Garden Inn :)I am looking to spend between 25 and 35 a night. Do you think that is feasible?
thereuare Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 ...and it is close to the Hilton Garden InnIs anywhere in the Aiprort North zone 'close' enough to the Hilton Garden Inn?Do you want to try for a 3* first up to your limit, then if rejected try for a 2.5*?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
