franklin411 Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Used the PRICELINE link...I went on HOTWIRE and found a 3.5 star that I ID'd as the Crowne Plaza, so I bid $70 on PRICELINE using the 3.5* rating selection and the LGA zone. Won on the first bid.I'm only overnighting there, but I hope works out well. I'm flying into LaGuardia at 10 PM on the 24th and then taking the train to New Haven early on the 25th, so I figure this will do fine. I considered trying to get something near the train station in Manhattan so I could get a head start in the morning, but then I figured getting through Queens at 10:30 PM loaded down with a bag would be asking for trouble (I take the bus!).

franklin411 Posted July 11, 2010 Author Report Posted July 11, 2010 So I was Googling to see how close this hotel is to the airport and I saw that the hotel employees are on strike. Any advice for this situation? I really don't want to cross a picket line, and I want to respect the strike. I did more googling and saw that Priceline gave refunds when there was a big hotel strike in San Francisco five years ago, but I don't know if that's policy or a special situation. Any thoughts? Thanks.
thereuare Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I don't think there is a standard policy in a situation such as this so if it's a concern for you i'd call PRICELINE and see their response.Let us know what you find out. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
