RonJ
My bid for $55 was accepted on the first try. Of course, we used your PRICELINE link. Now we have to see what room they give us, given that we have two kids along. Do they charge additional for parking, or is there a cheaper parking alternative locally?Ron Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success!Hope you're happy with the results and this property works well for your plans. You can call the hotel now to request a room with two beds, but keep in mind this is just a request and the hotel may not be able, or willing, to accommodate your preferences.I don't know if there is cheaper parking nearby, but current parking rates at this property are as follows: * Self parking is available for $18 per day. * Valet parking is available for $22 per day.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. GoingWithGrandkids
The $18 all day parking is an open uncovered lot right behind the hotel. Atlantic Superstore parking is same distance away and free but you're limited to 3 hours. Lots of on street parking is readily available after 6:00 pm for free with no limit on number of hours EXCEPT during the summer months (at which time overnight parking on the street is illegal). Covered parking lots are located within 2-3 blocks at maximum daily cost of $6.50. One of the best restaurants in Halifax is within easy walking distance - "PIPA" was recently selected as 1 of the top 10 new restaurants in Canada - featuring cuisine of Brazil & Portugal. Except for cost of parking, Westin is a really good deal. Clean, comfortable, good service and relatively quiet location. Also, if you bring your laptop and a DVI->HDMI (or std 15 pin VGA) and RGA Audio cables the standard office desk in your room provides jacks enabling output from your laptop to the 32" LCD TV so you can provide your own entertainment!
