007Bruin Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Can anyone tell me if the Holiday Inn Beacon Hill is the only 3* Priceline hotel in the Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial zone? If not, what else might come up if I bid in the Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial for a 3* hotel? Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this topic. I am looking to book a room for check in 3/13 and check out 3/18.
thereuare Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 If you look at the Priceline Hotel List you'll see that there have been other 3* properties won in this zone. As well, as per the comments as the top of the hotel list, the lists only contain hotels reported to the board... there could be others not yet reported, or a hotel may have been recently added to the pool of possible hotels, or another hotel may have been upgraded/downgraded and we don't yet know about it. As well, when you bid it's the minimum star rating you're willing to accept, so your 3* could could always be upgraded to a 3.5* or 4* property. If you're looking to have a bit of insight into the hotel you may receive HOTWIRE might be a better option. It usually costs a little more than PRICELINE but you have the ability to take an educated guess as to what you might receive based upon the amenities associated with the hotel offered. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. 007Bruin Posted March 11, 2010 Author Report Posted March 11, 2010 To this point, I have been unsuccessful on my attempts to get a 3* hotel in the Boston (Copley Square-Theatre District). I have selected 4* Quincy Market/Fan Hall, 4* Aquarium and 3* Copley/Theater. I am looking to get another free rebid for the 3* Boston (Copley Square-Theatre District) and would like to avoid placing a 3* bid in the Quincy Market area because I want ot avoid the Holiday Inn Beacon Hill. Is there another zone, maybe Fenway that doesn't have a 3* that I can add to get a free rebid by adding? Also any tips as far as what to bid at this point for check in 3/13 and check out 3/18? Thank You.
thereuare Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 You need to know how to determine your re-bid zones on your own, as they can change at any time and therefore need to be checked before every bidding cycle or you can end up in a zone you didn't intend.See this thread for information on how to determine your re-bid zones: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedFeel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding further. (HINT: when bidding in Boston you have FIVE re-bid zones at the 4* level, FIVE re-bid zones at the 3.5* level, and TWO re-bid zones at the 3* level)If after reading the above thread you're still confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. 007Bruin Posted March 20, 2010 Author Report Posted March 20, 2010 I finally had some luck with my bid for a 3* Hotel in the Copley Square-Theatre District for check in 3/15 - check out 3/18. I bid $55 and won the Doubletree Downtown located on Washington St in the Theater district. Can you please tell me how to post my win in the Calendar of Wins section. Also, do I need to repost this in a new forum since I didn't end up winning in the Quincy Market-Faneuil Hall zone?
