deyebby Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 I have used priceline and hotwire in the past but never when traveling with a group of people. I need to accomodate 7 people 6/24-6/27. Prefer NMA/Gold Coast or Streeterville. I don't know whether to try hotwire or priceline. Prefer 3.5* or higher and would like to stay under $125 a night. I stayed at the ES back in October and it was great, if only I could get that hotel again! Thanks for any tips you can share!
AaronJB Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)PRICELINE wouldn't be optimal in this case, because it only guarantees double occupancy (1 bed). With HOTWIRE, you can search for how many are going to be in each room. How many rooms do you need? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 With PRICELINE you could receive room(s) with only one bed in each, which doesn't sound as if it would work for your needs.Have you tried searching HOTWIRE for 2rooms/7people.. does anything appear within your desired zone, star rating, and budget? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. deyebby Posted March 9, 2010 Author Report Posted March 9, 2010 This is such a great site, now I always come here first and then search from the links above! thereuare Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 The 4* Mag Mile property matches multiple listings... the Hard Rock Hotel, Hyatt, Sheraton, Westin River North, Inter-Continental, and Swissotel have all been reported in this zone with this amenity combination, so any of these would be my best guess. It's been speculated that the 4* in the NMA zone is the Whitehall and that would be my best guess there.I'm not seeing the 3* NMA property on my current HOTWIRE search for your dates, 2rooms/7adults.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. deyebby Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 I booked (using the links above) through PRICELINE at $100 a night and got Westin-River North for 6/24-6/27. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Congratulations on your success. :)This is a fantastic result - the Westin RN is a lovely property in a terrific location and one of my favorite 4*'s in the city. While PRICELINE reservations aren't eligible for upgrades, this is one instance where I'd ask if there were any rooms on the South face of the building (which faces the river), as the river view rooms at this property (especially on higher floors) offer gorgeous views. They may say no, but it's worth a try.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
