Can you please add a reply to this thread with the date of your stay so we can enable this win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins, and also check your winning bid confirmation page to to verify the star rating of this property as i believe it is still rated 3.5* by PRICELINE. msclare Posted March 6, 2010 Author Report Posted March 6, 2010 Oops sorry I guess I am new to this. This was my first time using priceline. It took me a while to figure out the whole permutation bidding thing. I think I did switch to the 3.5 because I wasn't confident that I was going to get a 4* hotel for the price of $120. I am trying to travel with a bit of a budget. I booked for 03/22- 03/24, 2010 and the hotel star rating is actually a 3.5*I apologize, I think I read the wrong thing when it said it was a 4*I also used your PRICELINE linkJust out of curiosity, is this a good deal for this hotel? Or should I have waited and tried again the next day to get a lower price for the hotel? That was what I wasn't too sure of.
AaronJB Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Thank you for the follow-up. The lowest regular rate on the hotel website for these dates is $233, although Expedia has $255 and Orbitz over $300. So, at nearly half the lowest rate, this is certainly a very good deal. Waiting until the next day would likely have not made any difference. Some people try waiting until the last minute - while that strategy sometimes works, it can also definitely backfire.
